I am planning a road trip around America & Canda and I am looking for some good ideas to save money on hotels:

1) I'm not a member of the AAA/CAA nor am i a senior citizen.
2) I have a student card if that helps.
3) I have a teacher's card if that helps.
4) Where can i get coupons/discount vouchers for hotels?

Does anyone have any good ideas?

You should check out BiddingForTravel.com. It is a forum where people post their successful bids for Priceline so that can really help with getting the lowest possible rates.

However, the problem with Priceline hotels, in my opinion, is the uncertainty of Internet access. If that is also a concern of yours, try SearchAllDeals.com and get deals from hotels that have free Internet access. For example, a search for "free wifi hotels" returns the following result:

http://www.searchalldeals.com/results.html?cx=006616979543893323550%3Aydieztwyczu&q=free+wifi+hotels&sa=Search+60%2B+sites&cof=FORID%3A10#1001

You can also search for hotel name/location if there is a specific hotel you are checking out. It is also good to stick to the related brands/one brand to get bonus nights.

Hope this is useful... Have a great road trip!
