i have a kitten that we found stuck between two fences, we took him in, its been around 4 months now and he has never been outside. yesterday my mam let him out but had to do something and forgot he was out there and closed the door until a few hours later she relised. now he has wondered off. i have 3 female cats and theres lots of male cats around, so if i leave out food that not going to work. wat are the chances of finding home again?? he's so small he cant climb anything thats a metre high. can he sense his way back even tho he has never been outside????

Cats are very good at navigating their way home. I once had a cat find its way home, from Pensacola all the way back to Destin in 3 days. It’s an hour long car ride. Anyhow 4 months is enough time for your cat to understand where its home is. It may take some time but it should come back. Spend as much time as you can each day, and night, calling for him and even thought there are other cats, leave out food and water. You may end up feeding lots of cats, but it may coax your little one home. Dusk and night are the best times to find cats, so try going out often as it gets dark and after dark. Also you might want to leave your door or window open so that if he does come home you will hear him or he can just walk in. I’ve had good luck with cooking something that the missing cat goes wild for and leaving the door open. The cat will smell the dinner and come running home. Lots of times cats will come home, only to find the door shut and then they will leave again. Keep your eyes open and tell your neighbors to keep a look out too. Good luck and don’t give up.

Cats have great instincts, so he should be able to find his way back home. However, if he isn't fixed then it is less likely that he will come home on his own. If he has never been outside before, there's a good chance he's just enjoying checking everything out and he will come back when he gets hungry. If you're worried about it, though, you may want to put out some lost kitten signs.

He may and he may not. If he's never been outside, he might have trouble navigating out there. Or he might be so excited by all the new things that he's having a great time.
You can try standing outside and calling for him for four or five minutes out of every hour. That way, he might hear your voice and come back to you. That's what we did when our cat escaped out the basement door one night and she came back the next afternoon.
Try putting up "Lost Kitten" posters around the neighbourhood, and call your local animal shelter to know you're looking for him.
Good luck. I really hope he comes home.

Cats have superb instincts. They truly are better than GPS system. However, they can become overwhelmed upon first exposure to the outside world after being indoors.
If you have an article of clothing he rubbed against, don't wash it. HIS scent is on it. Use that garment to go out looking for him. He will have two points of recognition....your voice and HIS scent. That scent comes from the sebacious glands and is really quite strong even though we, as humans, can't detect it.
He may be exploring. He may injured. He could be hiding. You might want to do a little exploring to see if you can find a lead on him.
Worst case scenario, someone found him and is keeping him or........(:
Best of luck in your search. I truly hope the little guy is ok.

He sould be able to...but is he neutered? If not, i bet he's out seraching for a female, which would slim your chances of him coming home. And you say he is at least 4 months yet can't jump a meter high? Does he have any kind of disability? Cause he should be extremely agile at that age. Good luck, it's possible he won't, but cats do have good homing instincts.

I would not count on it. I would start letting neighbors know to look out for the kitten and grab him if they can. Sadly, the kitten is not going to know what a car is nor can he defend himself against bigger animals. Cats should always be indoors.

My cat was an inside only cat and she got out one night and I did not know. My stepson didnt close the door all the way. She was out all night and she came back. We can pray for your little kitty.
