It sounds like you need a hobbie something to take your mind off of food. If you just cant stop try munching on carrots or fruit, plus drink plenty of water, if you drink plenty of water it will fill you up so the desire to pig out will be gone.

I have gained weight too from emotional eating & being board...
& believe you me its NOT easy to lose...I've been to the gym, tried Nutri-System, Jenny-Craig, & starvation diets (I dont like to take those Over the counter pills, cause you dont know whats in them)...you dont say how old you are...if your young you'll be able to burn off the calories alot quicker than if your over 40...try to eat more fruit, broiled chicken & fish (if you like fish--Salmon is good)...go for a walk with a loved one or your puppy dog (if you have one)...I'd say, if you cant change the way you look just love who you are! God does!

I am going through the same thing myself. I have been trying to buy fruits and veggies so if I feel like I need to eat atleast those things are better for me.

Go see your doctor...but if you wanna do it on your own try to eat healthy foods like fruits and veggies when you feel the need to eat....or try something to comfort yourself like going to the gym, reading a book, taking a shower, etc....

Yes, boredom can lead to overeating, snacking etc. and lead to weight issues. You need treatment for underlying issues. Depending upon your belief systems, you can go allopathy, homeopathy or other alternative systems of healing.

I think a good start is to see your doctor. Maybe your doctor can help by putting you on a anti depressant or refer you to a nutritionist or a therapist.
