It's strange how so many close minded people would refuse to watch a documentary on the possibility the tomb of Jesus was found. Even at the very beginning (and end) of the program a statement was made to draw your own conclusions. Nowhere was the term FACT ever used.
Are people so afraid their faith being challenged that they would rather NOT watch another story about Jesus.
After all, the bible is FULL of just that, stories.
I would think watching such a program would strengthen ones religious preferences and it saddens me to know there are those who are a afraid enough of their own convictions to NOT watch as if somehow this would totally blow their belief....or am I missing something?

"you have to pick and chose what you watch and listen to, other wise you could become deceived to believing something that is not true " - like the bible for instance.

"No, I am not "afraid of my faith being challenged." I just don't like to listen to things that I just don't believe in." - like your minister, preist, etc.

"I watched it twice, too. I'm Catholic. I also think that it is sad more people aren't willing to have an open mind. Many Bible stories have been proven true as well as false using archaeology and research of historical writings.
I'm willing to wait and see what further research brings."

"Ignorance is when you just believe what you heard and read but never went further when something challenges it. This is why prejudice still exists and so many different churches exist. "

That's right sparky, many are too scared to look at things that might detour their faith that's why there are so many churches and beliefs. No one wants to search and get the whole truth. If they would open the eyes and seek they would find the bible is right and the things that this production brought out proves it. Jesus is real and thru TV they keep proving His legacy. From the davinci code ( shows how corrupt and secretive the Vatican is) Heb 10:18-23 1Tim 4:1-3 Pope is a mans religion and is never found in the bible, just because man put these guys in a higher posiotn God DID NOT... To this last thing with Ted Koppel, (shows that Jesus was here and died for us but they will never find His body in a tomb.

I watched it. I'm definitely a Christian. I also watched the critical analysis afterwards. The documentary was very entertaining, and showed several parts of scientific process with great accuracy. I think it was a little irresponsible to say that because "Yeshua bar Yosef" and "Mariamne" weren't brother and sister, they had to be married, and had to be Jesus of Nazareth and Mary Magdeline. That's a logical fallacy to jump to that conclusion given the little research done and the assortment of other possibilities. The documentary didn't mess with my faith. It was nice to see the other side of the debate, though. "Fact" was used a bit by that Jacobovici guy (about 6 times). I have it Tivo'd if you want to see it again. But, you seem mad about something. Did the documentary make you angry?

Are you missing something? Here was my answer to a question asked before the show aired about if people were excited about it.
"No, I'm not excited because all they are doing is trying to drum up ratings by engaging in unfounded speculation that denies the eyewitness accounts of what actually happened as written down by people like Luke the physician in the first century.
Luke 1:1 Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, 2 just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, 3 it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,
Tthey want to engage in illegitimate speculation and present it in the same manner as the Da Vinci Code was presented. They don't claim that they are presenting verifiable facts, but they present their speculations in such a way, where they gather up pieces of evidence and arrange them in a pre-planned manner designed to convince the audience that their speculations are actually factual in nature.
_______________________
In other words, it's like watching a show about far fetched speculations regarding some conspiracy theory where even though eyewitnesses have established the basic facts about what happened in the past the producers come up with "new evidence" and people who have nothing better to do and who are into that type of show get all excited and run around the water cooler at the office the next day asking people at work if they saw the show.

I watched it and Iam a Catholic Christian. To me it was so far fetched it made me laugh. They are grasping at straws. I watch all documentaries that pertain to the bible and Jesus and religion. But this one was just to comical to even try to take seriously.Especially if one is educated in the bible
