E45 cream is great for dry skin complaint. Aqueous cream is also very good and is very cheap but effective.

True: there are many different brands in the shops. I occasionally get very dry skin. Aqueous cream is alright but doesn't really help as much. One brand I would most defiently recommend is Eucerin. They have various creams to treat dry skin. I recommend the one that contains 10% Urea, and it depends which area of your skin is dry: they have creams for your face & body. Go to www.eucerin.co.uk they also have a skincare consultant who can help you & you can also request a free sample to try out the product before spending loads of money on something that doesn't work!

Aqueous cream (available at the pharmacy) is for extreme dry skin. Its a medical product so the packaging/smell etc is not all that but it does the trick if you have really dry, ecxema type problems. If you only have regular dry skin try an oil such as regular baby oil mixed in with a blob of moisturiser such as PALMERS cocoa butter cream. These two combined creates a very nice nourishing cream for dry legs/arms etc! Put it on after a bath or shower... perfect!!!! If you want a home recipe, olive oil is great for the skin but pretty messy!!!

Hey.
I have extremely dry skin as well.
So, I know how much it sucks.
Aveeno is very good
Is you're willing to spend the extra money, then MaryKay has an extremely good Intensive Moisturizer.
And dove is also great.
Here is a face mask:
What you will need:
1/2 avocado
1/4 cup honey
Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in the honey. Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes. Run a washcloth under cool water, then rinse face.
And another..
You'll need:
1 tsp. powdered milk
1 tbsp. almonds (pulverized)
1 tbsp runny honey
1 tsp aloe vera gel
2 drops essential oil
Mix ingredients well, apply to face, let sit for 15 minutes, wash off with warm water. This recipe is enough for two.
I really hope I helped.

I have dry skin as well, and I find that Body Butter from Bath and Body Works helps me and you can get it in your favorite scent. I also like Eucerin calming cream and Aveeno. I have also found that if I get hot hot showers, it tends to dry my skin out, so I turn it down just a tad. Not so that it is cold, but not high temp either. I like to lather up with lotion right when I step out of the shower in the mornings and before I go to bed each night. This helps me. Hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

Do you drink water? I don't mean things to satisfy your thirst but natural spring water. Interestingly it really balances the moisture in your body. If you can, drink milk that is NOT 0% fat, yoghurt etc.Really the best solution to skin problems is eating healthy natural food. Eating veggies and fruits helps a lot. Do you know if you are allergic to (not sure what you call it in english) dust? My close friend had it and she had to use a prescribed kind of moisturizer maybe that would help.. You can use almond oil, avacadoes and such food are oily and you might try mixing it to make it a cream. apply it make it stay for a while then you can remove it by ony rinsing with water. Body Shop's body butters really make the difference, they have smal printings on them that say 'for dry skin' or 'for normal/dry skin' etc. hope it helps..

I use aveno lotion, but I am not sure that the brand is what matters. Alot of times, the perfume/fragrance in the lotions can dry out your skin or cause iritation. My dermatologist told me that after a bath or shower, I should put lotion all over my body while still damp....this should hlp hold the moisture into your skin.
ALSO< Oil Of Olay Lotion Ribbons body wash works pretty well for me.

Neutrogena body emulsion is pretty good.
If you're willing to spend a little more money, "a perfect world" body cream by Origins is the best I've found yet, and it smells great!
For hands, Banana hand creme by Burt's Bees is also really effective.
If you're looking for a home recipe, I like using grapeseed oil and vitamin E oil combined...it is, well, OILY, as their names imply, but if you have a little time to sit around nude and let it do its thing, it's wonderful for the skin. OR you can put it in a bath, then pat dry afterward. Grapeseed oil can be found and health/nutrition stores.
Good luck. :-)

Vitamin E is the base of all beauty lotions and potions if they are any good at all. This is used due to its beauty and healing properties.
I use Vitamin E oil all over including my face.
It's inexpensive but it's very effective.
I buy it from Holland & Barrett.
I discovered it 6 years ago and I haven't look back.
My whole family use it now on a regular basis.
There is a bottle of Vitamin E Oil in every room.
Try it, you will be surpised with the result.
