She cried for like 6 hours streight, broke a bunch of stuff in her apt. and keept saying "i cant live without you" I had to listen to her cry all the time it broke my heart. Is this normal we were together for 3 years, should she be this upset?

Of course it is normal! It sounds like you are still living together. She can live without you, but is likely still in shock. Change is hard.
Best way for her to get over it is for you to leave, tell her it is not her, it is just not what you want, as soon as possible and stay away so she can move on.

that's the same thing that happened to me even tho I dumped my boyfriend of almost 2 yrs. He did the same thing as you're girlfriend choose but he also chose the psycho path. It's been almost 7 months and he's still stalking me and everything, he even has a new girlfriend. He's doing everything and telling my parents lies about me just to make my life miserable. But I'm glad I dumped him.

long comitted relationships are hard to let go of!!!
give it sometime...she'll be fine!
maybe u two should talk about how u both feel.
explain to her that it breaks ur heart to see her like this but this was something you felt needed to be done...
after that you may wanna give her some space and take the time to get over each other.....if that's what you feel is best!

yes it's normal but only becauses you have hers for so long.
what ever u do don't let her do anything stupid maybe u should try taking her back! good luck
