Hi...unfortunately it's not as easy to find and make friends online as it used to be as many of the chatrooms have been shut down.
I met my partner online 3 years ago in a chatroom, at the time we were living in different countries...we're now married and living together :-)
Myspace is a big thing these days...and you can always find like-minded people on Y!answers.
As for finding fellow pagans...i'm not too sure, but good luck. Have fun meeting new people.

I highly recommend http://www.livejournal.com for networking. The median age of pagans there is older than at MySpace, so you have less "OMGfluff" going on. (Not that LJ is fluff-free, of course.)
I also like http://groups.yahoo.com for finding both regional and gloabl online pagan discussion groups.

you may want to look into setting up a 360 page , that way you can invite people to chat on a more personal level... perhaps someone can help you with that because I am hopeless
