Sarah:

Do at least two days of cardio exercise a week, for 30 minutes everytime. That is the mimimum. Three times a week is also good.

Do the cario you like; jogging, speed walking, cycling, etc. Do it at a rate where your heart rate goes up and stays there. You should be able to say some words without gasping for air, but not two sentences in a row without feeling the need for air. That is about the rhyth that you should maintain. If needed work up to achieve this level of intensity. Give yourself time.
Cardio will fasten your metabolism!

Do some muscle tonning exercises two days a week.
No need to get bulky, just firm: pushup, dips, crunches, squats, launches, etc. whatever gets your arms, back, and abs, to work. Do the exercises you like or need for about 15 reps everytime, or hold them if that is the case, for 15 seconds.
You can use weights (light you do not need much weight), or elastic stretch bands, which will work fine and are not expensive. Many of them come with some exercise examples and suggestions to choose from.
Muscles are the ones that are going to burn the fat you want to get rid of. That is why toning them is important.

Strectch before, but specialy after exercising. It will take about five minutes to do it and it will help you lot.

Get away from fatty foods and sugar (also check what you drink, there is a lot of hidden sugar in many drinks). Have about 2 ltrs. of water a day.

Also, get plenty of rest.
No need to overdo it. It is while we rest that our body gets fit and gains the benefits from exercise.
Frecuency and being constant are the key elements, not pain and strain.

With this you have a plan that will get you fit and slim in no time and have a routine you can do and enjoy!
