I know the hospital in which he was born, first name of mother, her parents' occupations, her age (approx), her hometown, and where she went to college. Also know that it was two prominent families and that she was sent away to have baby so she may not want to be found. We don't really want contact, just medical history!

Hire a detective. Or there are websites that will do people searches, but I would stick with a detective. Humans are easier to deal with. =)

go to ancestry.com, try a trial membership. I found the ship's passenger list with my great grandfather on it showing where he emigrated from Italy to the u.s.
