I have been trying to find the answer to this problem for 12 years. After 33 years in the Army. I am a veteran too. Also they subtract my Soc. Sec. from my check when I earned this on my own. Why?? Who do I contact?

Contact a VA representative. Pensions always subtract Social Security. E-mail me and we will discuss better ways. I need more info.

Contact your local Vet. Rep - usually found at the nearest VA Hospital. Was your husband a recipient of the Purple heart, then contact them, also found at the nearest VA Hospital.

Are you receiving any Military magazine, as there are some articles in them you may find helpful, depending which ones you're receiving.

As to the Soc Sec being subtracted, ask your local VA rep to help with this. We've found that the Soc Sec people like to - pardon me here - screw people over.

You may also wish to see whose working at the capital of your state in regards to helping the Vets, and their families.
Mind you, my husband helps, but may not be of your state.

Look into the National Military Order of the Purple Hearts.. they're pretty good at helping people, or at best, directing them where they need to go.

Best of luck!

That's our Congress for you. You get 55% under the SBP until you reach age 62 and then it drops down to 35%. Also, as soon as you begin to collect Social Security there's an additional offset.

Great, isn't it?

Winni, America's shame doesn't stop at the gross neglect of it's servicemen / women's survivor allotments,.. that's just the tip of the iceberg.
I am ashamed that i have been so duped by congress and it's self-serving , ..
I am so sorry ... it's as much my fault as any one else...i voted, and my vote was for another thief, another puppet, another extortionist...another conformist..
I promise this to you,..my next vote will depend on the answer to questions like..::: if i vote for you, will you vote your self another raise in pay..?
::: if i vote for you, will you attempt to rectify the disgrace of Congressional pork...?
::: if i vote for you, will you address diss-functional gov issues, or add to them...?
::: if i vote for you, will you represent my dissatifaction with govmnt, or just conform to it's malfunctions..?
::: if i vote for you, will you honer my opinion of you, or sell it to a bidder..?
::: If i vote for you, will you staunchly speak for me , and vote as you imply to me you will..?

...I opologise..!!.. i thought i was doing the rite thing ..voteing as i did... i am not very proud of what i've done,..nor am i proud of who represented me when these kind of things happened to so many folks like you.

..I will be more careful this time..i will do better homework..pay less attention to the political pi ssing contests, and more attention to the individuals ethics, moral, integrity, and compassions.

You shouldnt get ANY of your husbands pension unless he is deceased and you were married when he passed. Unless YOU served 33 years, you don't have any claim to that money.
