I went to the boxing on Saturday night at Gateshead Leisure Centre, it was unlicensed and it was called Battle for the Bubble 3 (a charity event). There was a boxer called Wesley and I want to find info on him. I have tried British Boxing.net but its just licensed fighters. Any ideas?

Not easy..the fact that he's unlicensed makes him not legit..and there's always a problem with organised crime as regards gambling in unlicensed boxing. So he or his management may want to keep themselves nice and low-key, if you know what I mean!

I think your best bet is to contact the promoters of the actual event...their details should appear on the poster or programme, or if not then the Leisure Centre should be able to tell you who the promoters were. The promoters should then definitly be able to give you contact details for this fighter.

Why not phone Gateshead Leisure Centre, ask who organised and promoted the event, and then see if they can tell you who was on the bill that night ? They might quote the Data Protection Act or something stupid at you, but it's worth a try!

If not, try an appeal for help in the letters page of the local free newspaper.
