I think that many people say such things in order to reinforce their own beliefs: they feel better about belief despite a lack of evidence if they can convince themselves that everyone needs to satisfy the same longing for deeper meaning that they might have.

No... an atheist is one who doesn't believe in a superior force or being, but Jews and Muslims have a God, who happens to be the same one Christians have.
I am not sure where you're aiming at, since these other groups you mention do believe in a superior force of being, so your question doesn't really make much sense, at least to me.
Just because there are groups who do not share your beliefs, doesn't necessarily mean those people do not exist.. they're there all right!

The existence of atheists constitutes a special problem for christians, therefore they sometimes resort to denying atheism at all.
A christian can always say that a follower of another religion is just misled in his views of god and spiritual things. But a follower of another religion at least accepts that there is supernatural stuff at all. So there might be always hope that this one can be converted by declaring that his supernatural whatever is in fact the christian god or an aspect of it.
An atheist, on the other hand, is a strong sceptic on everything supernatural and therefore much harder to "convert". Therefore the effort of christians often goes into declaring that no one can have no belief, that atheism is a belief itself, or that everyone must believe in "something". All of which is utter nonsense, of course, and is only brought forward in order to blur the mind and prepare it for implanting religious dogma.

they could incredibly somewhat be man made. The Egyptians equipped the pyramids to honor their pharaohs and to help them get to the afterlife. They have been an somewhat resilient people. Many strategies have been commonly used that should enable the slaves to delivery the textile. Others have shown how they might have carved the factors. Others have shown how they might have stacked them and equipped them making use of notches. They have been additionally very sturdy at arithmetic. they might have used the stars to calculate due North. they could line it up with sticks placed vertically interior the floor. To point the pyramids, they in all probability equipped a moat around the section, and then leveled off the section interior so as that the water replaced into in spite of the exterior in any respect factors. i think of one significant element you're lacking is their remarkable guy capacity. Societies at present might decrease back from a job like that, yet they did it for honor and that replaced into significant. yet another significant factor is that it took them an rather long term to construct in simple terms one pyramid, a minimum of 25 years, probable 30. at present's technologies ought to create a pyramid, incredibly somewhat. besides the undeniable fact that, we don't very own thechronic to undertake this way of job. No, our cranes does not be lots use, yet you get a tractor trailer and build some ramps and additionally you're sturdy to flow. The Egyptians have been neither stupid nor lazy, and we could desire to continuously know their remarkable manpower and could somewhat than defer the greatness of to 'Gods.'

No. People who say this believe that EVERYBODY believes in SOMETHING as some sort of "higher power". That "something" may not be god of any kind, but it could be humanity itself, or The Law, or a basic sense of justice, etc.
The Christian stating the above believes the "athiest" still has SOMETHING in their life that is the ultimate power in the universe. THAT THING counts as god, no matter how small.
Obviously, a Christian already acknowledges the beliefs of other deists, no matter what deity the person worships.

Not following you here.
One can say that there are no atheists as the basis for atheism is absolute knowledge that there is no god...something which cannot not be known with any surety. Therefore, for one to state they are an atheist is to be intellectually dishonest. It is far more credible to state that one is agnostic as they see no evidence to suggest the proof there is a god.
That's a far sight from using the same argument to say there are no Jews, Muslims, etc.

When Christians say that, what they mean is: in a time of crisis, Atheists and other unbelievers will say 'God help me'.
It is like saying there are no Atheists in foxholes.
In Columbine, many kids were under their desks praying for protection. I am sure some of those had given no thought to God before that.

Why do they say there's no such thing as Atheists? There are people who don't believe in a God, so that makes them atheists, it's that simple.

I really don't think that Jews and Muslims can in any way be called atheist, nor other people who believe in other religions, even though you might not agree in the form of their worship.

Some say that Atheists don't exist because it seems all men for all eternity have been searching for God. Jews search for Him, Muslims search for Him, Christians search for Him...atheists don't. They don't believe He exists. Some of us don't think that's possible.
