I have a female border Collie my kids brought it home it looked like a dieing rat we nursed it back to health and called it Chancey
short for second chance. These dogs are very smart and very proud a male dog should have a name that is manly like King ,Prince,or maybe Chance.

One sylable names are best for Border Collies. They respond better and faster if you use short names. For some reason the hard "S", "X", or "K" sounds work well. If you go to sheep dog trials you will find very intelegent BC's with short names with emphasis on hard sounds.

From experience I have learned that single-quick names are really good for border collies. For example:
Sport
Jet
Streak
Tye
Sly
Names like these just seem to work best.
