The cause for a drop in haemoglobin could have been slow and prolonged bleeding from the stomach. Aspirin administration can lead to it. An endoscopy done after stopping aspirin for some time can be entirely normal because the ulceratios are very superficial.
Stopping aspirin for some time and adding drugs to reduce gastric acidity like Pantoprezole etc are useful. Aspirin or clopidogrel can then be resumed under supervision.
Niacin might have been started because of low HDL cholesterol level. Get your haemoglobin repeated to make sure it is coming up.

If you are female, menstruation is the main reason for anemia. Heavy discharges deplete body of iron.
If you are a man, anemia could be caused by malnutrition, internal bleeding (this will generally show up as dark colored stool) etc.
Iron tablets can cause side effects such as nausea. It is better to first estabish the reason for the low Hb level and treat the cause.
Homeopathy and Ayurveda have good solutions. Once the underlying factors are treated, the haemoglobin level should go up.

I think you should get some IRON rich pills or syrup at the pharm. This will boost your blood level. Eating liver also will do.
