Songs that could help, and I give you different songs so you try it with your voice.
- On My Own - Eponine (Les Miserables), if you can sing this then they will be shocked.
- Unfaithful - Rihanna (you can kind of act while singing this song).
- The Past is Now Another Land - AIDA (it sounds like opera but when you sing it is so easy).
- Popular - Kristen Chenosworth (Wicked Original Broadway Cast) and it is really fun to perform.
- You can sing things like Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams in a tone that is comfortable to you (also try Heaven).
- Can You Feel The Love Tonight? - The Elton John or Sara Paxton version.
- I Deamed A Dream - Fantine (Les Miserables) - it's a nice song when YOU sing it the one by the Original Broadway Cast sounds like opera but it's cool.
- Kiss Me - Avril Lavigne.
Hope these options help you and don't use your throat, use your diaphragm when singing. These songs may help you for warming up too, it doesn't have to sound nice but the fact that you sing them they really help you. Wish you luck!!

First of all, i would *not* sing a Disney song.

I have directed several elementary school musicals and when kids come in singing Disney songs, they just try to sing like the Disney characters .... meaning they just try to sing like pop stars. Bad idea!!! Especially if you aren't a great singer in the first place.

Show them that you have some interest in Broadway musicals. Even if you are pretending!!

Here are some easy songs that are fun and still have to do with Broadway.
1) "Singin' in the Rain" -- fun and jazzy
2) "Sunrise, Sunset" -- beautiful, slow and serious
3) "You're never fully dressed without a Smile" -- happy and cheerful
4) "I Feel Pretty" -- happy and cheery, and you can sing it in your high voice and dance around a bit if you are a good dancer.

Remember, if you're not a great singer, you want to convince them that you are a hard worker. That way they will think that you are going to improve! If you show up being, like, "This is the song I saw in Little Mermaid," they'll think you didnt' do any work. But if you tell them, "I went to the library, got this book, learned the song from the Broadway CD ...." they will know you are a hard worker and your singing is going to get better.

By the way, I also woulnd't sing a song from "Les Miserables." It is one of the few musicals from the 1990's that had a little girl in it, and for that reason, EVERYBODY sang those songs in a million auditions. Trust me, the directors will be a little sick of it!!

Break a leg!

1. It will help if you mentioned what musical you are auditioning for, that will greatly determine what style of song you should sing

2. No time better than the present to start singing, although I would recommend getting training first before you start auditioning.

find a song that you love to sing that is in your range. i don't know your range so it's difficult to find an appropriate song for you. if you sing from the heart and sing a song that you know very well, that wil be far more impressive than a song that you don't know that well with a high range.

reflection-mulan (its a good song for low voices)
or broadway

These are just two examples. Buy a disney book (or borrow one) and look through possible songs. I hope this helps!
