im painting my new skirting boards white, how do you stop the knotts in wood coming through the paint a yellow colour??

Follow the old saying Knot stop and prime. Apply knot stopper, coat in primer, two coats undercoat and gloss.

3 prong approach. Treat the knotts with knott stop, wood primer,gloss.

Treat with knotting solution and use a brand name primer/undercoat

You can use aluminium wood primer
