I think that would depend on your girl's taste in music. You wouldn't want to play country for a girl who's into heavy metal, for example.
That said, Barry White, Marvin Gaye are both popular choices. Something low and mellow with a good bass line.

Thats so simple but so hard, of course the choices are R&B and/or Jazz music,the difficult part is whether to go old school or modern because old school has more soul but maybe a little too starightforward and modern lacks that ultimate mood setting atmosphere but is smoother.
