Christians or Jesus followers were not accepted until Constanine
as the Ceaser recognized it as a belief system in an attempt to save the failing Roman government. this was appx. 360 A.D. no dating was done at that time. Eventually it became necessary to
establish a date system before and after the life of Jesus and
what had become the collaberation of the government/religion
in Rome. By the time the religion had gained a majority of followers they also needed to establish a date system and set
it up using the religion as it's basis. Thus another way the
Catholic Church made sure it exerted control over the people.

Maybe because that was when the Gregorian Calendar was enacted, and it was based on the birth of Christ? Just for general history, the birth of Christ would not be a significant event until society was mostly Christian and that didn't accour until around 500 to 600 CE.

why dont footballs have feathers?
this question makes as much sense as yours.
Why would his superiority have anything to do with how men count time.one has nothing to do with the other you should read history. christianity was,nt that popular for several hundred years, and the calendar was basicly a roman thing and the old one passed with the fall of that empire and was revived in it,s new form by the new.

WHY 750?
Julian calendar lost time ever 128 years, the Gregorian calendar corrected this. I go by the bible. It is new moon to new moon as a year.
WHAT ARE THE BIBLE YEARS OR HOW OLD WOULD ADAM BE WHEN JESUS IS BORN?
How old was Adam when Moses began to compile books?
Genesis and Job, then Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy was written as they lived it [ as all other books were ]; O.T. 1110 years, about 40 to write, done 443 [ before Christ or 443 before the bible years ended or before the common era ]. Should bible years be before the common era and after that time be the common era?
If BC is Before Christ and Christ is born 2 years before the bible years end or Adam would be age 4064, when Jesus is born [ in Roman Empire #6 that has been over Judah and his birth area from 4004 after Adam to 4064 after Adam], then in 2 years Matt.2:11-13,16; Jesus is age 2 [ 4066 when the bible years end ], or Adam is age 4066 [ before the common era was 4066 years ], Jesus crucified in year 33 [ year 33 common era ], 2007 after Christ , or AD, [ or 2007 common era ], or 2007 after bible years and 6073 would be the age of Adam now.
[ Years before [ BIBLE YEARS ], for science and evolution as all exist or is in years of preparation in time belonging to God until times and seasons belonging to plant life Gen.1:1-25; times and seasons is time understood by humans ]; Genesis 1:26 [ Adam Gen.5:3,5 ]; to Gen.7:6 [ Flood ]; [ #10. Noah 9:28,29]; to Gen.12:4,10; [ #20. Abraham 25:7,9]; Matt.1:1-17; to 1Ki.2:10,11 [ #34. David ]; Genealogy of Jesus to Babylon Empire #3 ended kings after #48. Jehoiachin captive 606 years left of bible time.
THERE WILL BE NO KING UNTIL JESUS AT SECOND COMING AS TO PROPHECY:
[ Jehoiachin Eze:1:2; down to Joseph the husband of Mary ], David and his son Nathan is family of Mary the mother of Jesus, #62. Jesus at Roman Empire #6

It took that long for the Catholic church to be powerful enough to impose their version of the Julian calendar on all of christendom.

Ooooooo good one, you really got them there. *rolls eyes*
The decision to start using a calendar based on the years of his life has nothing to do with how transcendental Jesus might be.
