She has always been a good sleeper, really ever since she came home from the hospital. Now she seems to wake up two to three times a night. We don't get her up, and she can "self sooth" herself back to sleep, but she doesn't seem rested in the morning. Is there anything we can do to help her sleep better?

My daughter did the same exact thing. It really scared, so I went to my mother, and she told me some interesting things.

* If a child watches television, it could be something that she finds scary creeping into her dreams.
* Any kind of sugar eaten two hours or sooner to bedtime can cause overactive dreaming.
* She could be too hot or too cold.
* She could be sick.
* If there is argueing in the house, this may have raised her anxiety, causing her sleep to be more restless.

Your children are usually very similar to you, have the same thoughts and feelings. If your stressed, she might be stressed. Talk to your daughter and find out if anything is wrong. If all else fails, take her to the doctor.

Good luck! I hope your daughter gets the sleep she needs.

The teeth suggestion is a good one. She may also have an upset stomach. Maybe she's hungry, too. However, kids go through stages for no apparent reason sometimes, too. It may just be a phase. My daughter slept through the night from 2 months to 8 months, and then started getting up a couple of times a night out of nowhere. That lasted for about 9 months or so, then she just started sleeping all night again.

She might be having issues with teeth coming in. Maybe give her a little infant motrin before bed
