Organized religions like Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism won't end anytime soon. They will live on for centuries. Maybe even millennia. It's easy to imagine in this age when atheism is rising that all religions and the idea of God will soon disappear, but atheism has also always existed. In fact, when you look at organized religions, some of them are very old, and some of them are a lot younger than others. Christianity is 2,000 years old, Hinduism is 4,000, Islam is 1,400, and Judaism is 3,000. It's worth noting that the world's oldest religion (Hinduism) is also one of the world's main religions, claiming 18% of the world population. Why do atheists think religion won't survive? Religion will survive all right. It's not going away anytime soon.

The reason some atheists say religion will become obsolete in a few more years (could be 100, could be 1000 yrs from now..) is that now we have science.
4000 yrs ago, it was hard to be an atheist, as there wasn't much of another explanation, or many facts to support you. If an earthquake happened, and you told someone it was plate techtonics you'd be stoned, beaten, and imprisoned. At the time it was believed God formed these types of things.
Today we know that is not the case, and someone who says that God makes thunder, or hurricanes, or earthquakes is seen as a sheltered and ignorant buffoon.
This is the reason that atheism is slowly gaining ground. We can come up with other explanations and do away with the "God of the Gaps."

I guess the real question your asking is - Do you think there will always be a need for religion?
But to answer your actual question - No many people don't realize that organized religion will last forever. Many people understand that religion is there to explain the unexplained. As we learn more about the workings of our universe and these questions can be answered using the scientific method religion may melt into mythology.

I'm sure they still got centuries to live, but I'm also certain that they will end up disappearing.
In Europe only 52% of the population believes in a god, and that's including countries like Italy and Malta that are predominantly religious.
I'm certain with more and better education religion will end up disappearing completely.
Oh, and "personal relationships with Jesus" do qualify as religions, actually they are of the worst kind!

Science and technology are now advancing at a rate never seen before. I believe this will do a lot to sharply reduce the rate of people subscribing to superstition and mythology. Religion can't hold on forever when held up to the light of modern understanding. Just look at what has happened to religion in the U.K and elsewhere.

You are of course right, unfortunately. There have always been all these religions around to separate man into little groups and make life more difficult by filling peoples heads with garbage, and sadly they will always be here and rational people just have to try their best not to let all the ancient superstitions some want to hold onto mess things up too bad. As long as we can avoid letting religion taking too much control of our governing bodies then it will be fine.

faith as a philosophy is student, it has somewhat some acceptances to commence with and that on my own certainly brings it out of philosophy. because of the fact without thinking each and every factor of a concern you would be unable to talk approximately it as a philosophical view. As humankind we can't have an accepted greater desirable intelligence however the existance of information superhighway and advice technologies, the universal use of it and our attain to know-how is increasing. the undeniable fact that we from all areas of the worldwide can argue approximately this and any concern is the evidence of that. you do no longer could desire to be clever or experienced, or examine plenty to have a thinking thoughts, you be responsive to who does that maximum? toddlers. we could desire to consistently shop what our new child minds could desire to question each and everything, each and every reason, each and every consequence, each and every worry and each dogma. This is likewise the comparable clarification why non secular people do in contrast to technology, because of the fact it rather is likewise the muse of medical approach. And as "religious" needs bypass, technology may additionally remedy what people could desire to have a sparkling ethical experience, for this reason to be morally good; the full concern of regulation Making and practices is definitely (if precise performed and not corrupted) is in accordance with that. So, if the "plague" of thinking and advice technologies unfold like this; a turning out to be sort of and promptly the assumption of religion and the will for it won't final long or perhaps we could even see its ending in our lifetime.
