We have created a culture of escapism -- substance abuse and religion are the two biggest contributors to this.

An escape goat? Have no clue what that is.

God could be used as an escape from reality - which means something fictional that use to avoid the reality around you.

Or God could be used as a scapegoat, which is something else you blame for your own problems.

But I have never heard of an escape goat....

(Oh, and the answer is no. God is real, and does actually solve people's problems. I have seen it happen too many times to have any doubt about it.)

You're mixing metaphors. Scape goat or escape? A scape goat is someone that is blamed for something he/she didn't do. An escape is a mechanism used for self-defense either physically or mentally.

Yes, I believe that we want to think someone is in charge.
Humans are doing a very bad job of taking care of this earth and its people. It would be nice if we could believe that someone knows what they are doing. Maybe all of this is God's plan for the earth?

Wrong....He is eternal and He does exist.
We are all sinners in desperate need of a Savior.

Thank you, Jesus.
