Want some feedback on this gun I just got (well the bf got for me)! I just got a Beretta PX4 storm 9mm! I get to pick it up tonight (and of course test it out at the range)! I was interested in getting the glock 19 9mm (my bf already has the 23 40 cal and I wanted something different)! Well we decided to go with the storm (because I love berettas tho I never shot this model... only shot the beretta 92fs) because he wants more than glocks in his collection! I was told it has a short recoil! I heard this is a great gun and I am looking for any feedback if anyone has experience with this model! No need to say I should have gotten a big caliber (I wanted a 9mm)!

Im using Winchester (white box) 9mm bullets! Thats the one I use the most frequently with any gun! Not sure if that is good or bad!

Yeah I read that the backstraps are interchangeable and available in a smaller size for smaller hands! Which is a nice option I must say (im very petite with tiny hands... Ive done well with all the former guns I have shot, but this is a nice option)! There are alot of interchangeables on this gun!

Excellent weapon, but you need to try several types of rounds such as "Black Talon", "Hydra-Shok", and Speer "Gold Dot" to insure they will chamber properly. Some weapons, like my Browning Hi-Power, do not like certain types of ammunition. With a 9mm, you will need one of the above rounds for effective kinetic energy transfer and stopping power. Also, the above ammo is designed to penetrate 12 inches and be fully expanded. This eliminates the danger of over penetration like you get with FMJ ammo. As characteristics of ammo differ, practice with the same ammo you are going to consistently use.

I think you made an excellent buy.

My wife and I started shooting together when we were dating. I travel on business and she would stay alone in my house for several nights in a row and asked me to teach her. After she learned handguns, she graduated to rifles and shoots .22 rifle offhand better than me.

I went to a gun show this weekend and examined and handled the PX4. I went and checked reviews and there seems to be a lot of positive comments about it, even from people who are not big Beretta fans and that says a lot.

Your choice of 9mm is a fine choice. It's a knee-jerk reaction from 'armchair shooters' that 9mm is underpowered. Shooters should shoot and become good with the caliber they feel comfortable with. I carry a 17 rnd Browning HiPower in 9mm even though I own a Sig P229 in .40. There is a 20 year relationship with me and my 9 and nothing else is going to be quite the same for me.

Hi Nikki. Berettas are good guns. The .9mm is a perfectly good defensive round provided it is loaded with good defensive ammo. The Winchester 'white box' is target ammo? Standard 115 grain full-metal-jacket .9mm? That is fine for target practice but buy the Federal Personal Defense ammo, or the brand name of your choice--Remington, Gold Dot, Hornady personal defense ammo. Federal makes a 124 grain Hydra Shok that fits the bill. That is what I got for my daughter's Glock Model 26.

Take your gun safety course and comply with all you State's gun laws. Remember, don't point your Beretta at anything you are not willing to destroy. Be sure of your target because even .9mms shoot through a lot of dry wall.

Best.

The Storm is a great gun, the only one to use a rotary barrel which is said to make it more accurate and have less recoil. The Storm is the second gun that Beretta made with the rotary barrel, the first being the Courgar.

This is an excellent gun.

It's a good gun, made better by the addition of its big brother to your collection. Get the Beretta Cx4 Storm, and you'll have neat little carbine to go with it. The two guns share the same magazines.

It's a good gun..a friend of mine has one it's accurate and he has never had a problem with it. The recoil for any 9mm isn't going to be that bad and the caliber is adequate for defense.
Just get some good +p hollowpoints for defense and use the cheap fmj for the range.

I have not handled one but they seem real nice. BTW, Stoeger imports the Cougar from Turkey and it is now cheaper if you want a rotary barrel twin to keep the stoem happy. Beretta owns part of that operation, I believe-so quality is still intact.

Short answer. Neat gun, well worth the expensive price tag.

as long as you are able to shoot it and feel very comfortable holding it, I don't see anything wrong with it. The 9mm is a popular choice right now.

vary good gun,in this case the old adage you get what you pay for is true. the one question I would have is the grip size, it may be a little big for your hand. you may wont to get some custom grips for it. Have fun and good shooting.
