too much blow drying can lead to hair breakage...condition your hair twice a week, comb right straight to the back and tie a scarf around your head and allow your head to dry out on its own, it will give it some volume and then blow dry, comb it out and use little bit of moisturiser , not alot...that should do.

By the sounds of it you are probably an overwasher!!
Let your body naturally help your hair out by leaving it untouched for awhile! Next time you wash, do a really nice job of lathering and rinsing and when you get out don't blow dry it our add any products to it. Simply comb (not brush!!! brushing wet hair will break it!) through your hair to avoid tangles and then put it back - braid if you want to. Let it air dry and then don't wash it again for a couple of days!
This is a really good treatment no matter what the cause of your dry, brittle hair. Just let nature do its thing - healthy hair is always soft and shiny hair :)

Try Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration" shampoo and conditioner. I use it for my dry hair and I love it.
DON'T put eggs on your hair, though. Contrary to popular belief, eggs, mayonnaise, or any other items used from the refrigerator will NOT help. The egg molecule is too large to penetrate the hair shaft, making you smell like a Denny's restaurant at 6 in the morning.

Have your hair cut regulary to cut off any dry hair and to keep it in good condition, also use lot's of conditioner when you wash your hair, but don't wash your hair everyday as that will make it dryer and less shinier.

Try a good leave-in conditioner, that way you are conditioning your hair as well as making it shiny.
