Just tell him that although you respect that he likes skateboarding that you want to talk about things you like or both like sometimes. Its selfish that he talks about just his interests all the time but maybe he does not realise it. dont be harsh but explain that you are a couple and you need to talk about various things to keep the relationship alive.

Start dating other people. He will get the idea that you are loosing interest in him. Short of that, talk to him honestly and inform him of you displeasure with him. There should be nothing wrong in telling your partner who you feel about things. If there is a problem with doing such, then you do not communicate very well and that in and of itself is a bigger problem.

Skateboarding happens to be his passion, apparently. Do you have a passion of your own? Would you expect him to crash your's? If you don't like that aspect of him, then you obviously have no idea who he is. Maybe it's time for you to move on and find someone who'll focus more attention on your needs and not their own.

I think that you should tell him how you feel and say look why can't we talk about something else for once.

Ugh, I know what you mean... my husband talks about work and it's sooo booooooring. I listen politely, though, and he knows that I don't really understand his job but it feels good to get things off his chest, even if I don't get it.

Just tell him, unless you are worried about starting a fight. Or just change the subject yourself.
