If you are in the UK, it depends on a few things. If you're there at the scene, and the road is blocked, there is an injury (shock is included - it can kill), and/or one or more parties is refusing to swap their details (name, address, name and address of keeper if the driver is not the owner, registration number), then the Police should be called. If there is no injury, the road is not blocked, and details have been exchanged, then you have complied with Section 170 of the Road Traffic Act and you don't need to inform anyone other than your insurance company if you wish. If the collision involves injury, but is not reported to the Police at the time, the you need to report the collision in person to the front office of a Police Station as soon as is practicable, or in any case, within 24 hours of the collision occurring. Someone falling on a bus and injuring themselves, for example if the bus stops sharply, is also classed as a road traffic collision. This is because the injury is cause as a result of the motor vehicle on the road. Hope this helps.

You cannot report a road accident by phone. It must be to a police station. It is still a road accident if you are accidentally injured whilst on a bus ,if it stops suddenly for instance causing someone to fall and be hurt then the driver reports. If you are a driver involved it must be reported as soon as practicable and in any case within 24hrs to a police officer'

If you have an accident in your vehicle you have a legal obligation to stop at the scene and provide certain details to any person who has a reason to require them (in this situation, I suppose the bus driver might!)
Offence 1: Failing to stop following a reportable accident
If any person (other than the driver of the vehicle) is injured, the owner of the vehicle is obliged to produce a certificate of insurance to anyone having good reason to request it, or a police officer (or vehicle inspector).
If you stop and nobody requires your details, you have a duty to report the accident to a constable or a police station AS SOON AS YOU CAN. This MUST be within 24 hours, however. (despite what others have said, this does not mean you have up to 24 hours - it means you must do it as soon as possible, and even if you do it within 24 hours you may be guilty of the offence if this was not as soon as you possibly could). This must be IN PERSON at a police station - depsite what someone says about phoning the station - this will not fulfil the requirement.
Offence 2: Failing to report accident as soon as practicable.

Yes the Police. Just state the time and the route which you were on, and what happened.
In my experience the bus companys are indifferent to the publics reporting drivers for bad driving or accidents.

Should be reported to the police within 24 hours of the incident - you are legally obliged to do this if you were the driver of one of the vehicles involved. The police can deal with the bus company. Just pop into your local police station - ASAP.
Good luck

let me guess you going to blame the bus driver never anybody else fault but the bus driver
we get it all the time you hit my car you took off my mirror you stop to sharp so I fell over
just yesterday I had a passenger in a wheelchair did not what my help getting off so he wheeled him self off backwards fell out of chair and spilt his head and yes it was my fault? we cannot win.
most buses now have cameras fitted so you need to check this out with the company and you would be surprised how many people change there story when they see the pics( just like DVDs)
just give us a chance we drive some of the longest vech on the road and we need a lot of room to swing round etc and no we do not disappear when car drivers close there eyes then open them again.
I am sorry if you had a bad experience on the bus but we do try our best .
all drivers should have to drive a bus then they would know it is not easy

Accidents within the bus should be reported to the driver at the time, and thence to the company that the driver works for. Details needed are time, date, driver, witnesses, who was involved, what happened, action taken.
RTA's need reporting to the police if they involve personal injury.

The police are the logical answer, which should have been done at the time of the accident. I'm really hoping you didn't leave the accident to go home and get on your computer and ask us.
