I was considering starting the Atkins Diet as I'm in a weight loss contest at work. I already work ou regularly and play on 3 soccer teams. Will starting this diet make me/my muscles weak?

the thing about this diet, and especially the first two weeks of it (induction) is that you are eating no SIMPLE carbs. the higher intake of protein will cause you to lose excess water in your body. this will make you appear thinner at first, and you will lose quite a bit of body weight at this level. the only reason you should feel tired is because a loss of potassium.

take a supplement and you will actually feel better on the atkins diet than before you did before you started. and make sure to eat lots of the vegetables allowed in the diet. this diet is NOT about eating 20lbs of bacon a week, its about eating food that is more natural to our bodies, and therefore our bodies process it better.

also for the success of ANY diet, planning ahead is the best thing you can do.

what my mother and i do is make up food on sunday night- then its easier to get prepared in the mornings of that following week. never skip a meal, because then you will be starving and will grab for anything in that moment of a pinch.

good luck in your endeavors

p.s. dr. atkins did not die of heart disease, he died because he fell and hit his head and while unconscious from his skull fracture, was on I.V. therapy. when on I.V. therapy they pump you full of fluid to maintain your veins, but it is hard for your body to get the fluid out. dr. atkins died looking very bloated but with a healthy heart.

p.s.s. he was a cardiologist

p.s.s.s look up protein power, the doctor team who wrote that describe with more detail why this style of eating works in terms of how your body functions.

Before starting this diet, please keep in mind that Dr. Atkins DIED of heart disease! I don't think it's the safest! Have you looked into the South Beach diet? It has a more balanced menu and offers up the same results as Atkins. It sounds as if you have enough of an exercise routine that you will not lose muscle mass.

ok i've got finished the two so ... at the start in case you have in simple terms lost 5 lbs in one month on a vegetarian nutrition plan you probable have not been workout and/or you have taken in too many energy. in simple terms as a results of fact that's non carnivorous does no longer mean its low calorie. Now as for ATKINS run....do no longer do it. i presumed i replaced into so sensible and so did each and all of the persons I confident to bypass on Atkins reason I lost 29 lbs in a month, yet... no longer in simple terms did the load come real back the minute I have been given back to the actual worldwide and ate some carbs. yet I gained back extra, plus I became a B*tch on the same time as in this nutrition plan. CRANKY!!! and it replaced into sooooo puzzling to pay interest as your strategies has no potential as a results of lack of ability of carbs. it is so bodily risky too. It replaced into relaxing for the 1st couple of days, Viscount St. Albans, cheese, steaks, salmon, nuts... AKA fat fat fat fat fat fat...then you definately start to sense like a pan of oil. Makes me ill recalling this nutrition plan. How approximately including slightly lean protein to the veggie nutrition plan and exercising the load off, then you definately will need an business enterprise toned physique.

A few of my friends do atkins and it seems like they always gain back triple what they lost when it is over. I tried it and got severely sick within the first few days. Why not try southbeach instead. the weight loss is comparable, yet the food choices seem healthier. Good luck in your contest!
