Actually, you are wrong. Islam was founded by the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) approx 1400 years ago, when, according to legend, He received the revealed word of Allah (PBUH) from the Archangel, Gabriel. Thus the beginnings of Islam as a faith and religion.

Note: I am not a Muslim but a Christian by faith, not religion. By adding PBUH I choose to show respect. For those who may not know it means Peace Be Upon Him.

Ah, but there was no Muhammad to declare as Allah's prophet until 1400 years ago.

I am always confused when people talk of submission to God's will, yet submission seems to vary so widely and in so many conflictual ways.

The religion Islam did not start just from Muhammad PBUH, as this is the religion from Adam PBUH, refined and upgraded by almighty Allah through 124,000 prophets, and finalised to its complete shape, on the last Prophet, Muhammad PBUH. 1428 years ago.

Muhammad, the man who dictated the Koran and gave birth to Islam, was born in Mecca in the Saudi Arabian peninsula in 570 A.D. At the age of 40 (i.e. in 610 A.D.) he announced that he had a visitation from a spirit who told him that he was called by God to be a "prophet" and an "apostle." That is when it all started, 1,397 years ago!

It is funny thast none of the prophets of Islam NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT IT, until Mohammed then. I guess they didn't submit so well.
