If the woman ask you out then she should pay, but be prepared to foot the bill. It would be a WONDERFUL idea to go dutch. If she expects you to pay you should keep that in mind for the future. Maybe dating her isn't such a good idea!

If a woman asks a man out and he accepts, I think she should at least buy him a drink or two. But if he was any kind of a gentleman at all he would insist on paying for dinner, after dinner drinks, and the cab ride home the next morning!

This is the age of equal rights for women remember? The women fought for the right to be equal to men!. Why do the women still want the men to pay for everything?. O wait a minute, I get it! Women only want the rights they choose, the easy ones.... They want the men to take care of all the hard ones.I always let the women pay for the date in respect for their equal rights! I would Not want to take that away from them!

I'd pay 1/2, unless he insisted on paying. Or if you don't mind paying you can offer to pay for the full thing.

I believe that the etiquette is that " the one that asks should pay"... having said that i think that a gentleman would offer and should pay at least on the first date....
It really depends how serious you are about her and what you believe is the right thing to do in this situation......
I personally would insist on paying, i think its polite....

Good luck....

Out of courtesy and chivalry, yes the man should. But If the woman insists on paying, let her. Somehow this will keep her be at ease with your company.

If you have the money; make sure you offer. If you don't; you probably should have suggested going to a cheaper restaurant and then go dutch. A woman likes to be treated special; and if she pays..it doesn't make it a memorable first date. Marilyn

i think whoever asked should pay, but some women are old-fashioned and still believe the man should always pay for the date. maybe you should go dutch (you pay for you, she pays for herself). I would talk to her about it beforehand.

Rule of thumb. The person who makes the invitation is the one who pays, UNLESS, a previous arrangement such as "Going Dutch" has been made.
