The good news is... there is! See your vet. Or find a new one. He/she will be able to treat your pup with a three part series of medications that are not expensive and very well tolerated. It will clear up your your dog in short order. Just go to the vet and follow his advice to the letter. It may be that one treatment will work better than another because there is more than one type of mange and it might manifest differently in different dogs. Also some dogs are just born with it. Any good vet can help you. And save you money and aggravation from trying all the wrong things first. Every rescue pet I have ever had has had it; but with treatment they are all mange free and beautiful and healthy. The old mangy coat did have to shed out and the healthy fur grow in but in time your dog will look and feel great once the relentless is gone. I am just a dog lover not a vet, but there is a solution just don't give up. Good luck.

May be it isn't the mange my brother has an American Eskimo that lost all of her hair he had her at countless vets their diagnose and treatment were for gland problem's,also thyroid, a tumor, these treatments didn't work he was using science diet for weight gain so he stopped feeding that changed dog foods and the dogs hair is coming back.

Mange is a horrible disease and Ive been dealing with it too with my 1 year old. Been thru the dips, shots and oral meds from the vet. Ive been doing research into homeopathic/herbal/natural remedies to try to get a better grip on this stuff. She is better now {knock on wood} and I think it is from a combination of the vets care and my quest to find alternative healing. I changed her dog food to Natural Balance hypo-allergenic {expensive} from Purina Pro-Plan , She now gets 3 TBS of Yogurt in her breakfast--as a probiotic cuz shes on strong anti-biotics from the vet along with a good multi-vitamin. She gets 3 TBS of canned pink alaskan salmon in her dinner along with 1 ml of Garlic extract and 1 ml of Olive leaf extract, 225 mg of Grapefruit extract & her other multi-vitamin.{shes a big girl at 85 pounds and needs 2 vitamins} When she has a break-out I also give her 2- 500mg vitamin c tabs/ 1 morning-1 night. She gets NO more junk food-people food or junky dog food or junky dog treats. She gets organic baby peeled carrots, chicken breast chunks and ice cubes for treats and she loves it, especially carrots. ****garlic can be toxic to dogs in large amounts so be careful ! I think you got to cure this mange from the inside out -boosting the immune system and Below are some of my favorite websites that I refer to regularly in my search for the cure. Good luck and keep up the fight !! As a reminder please do your own reasearch and read, read, read and then make your choices for your dog based on weight, breed and advice from your vet. by the way the last link below {akita rescue} has the greatest advice on what to feed and supplement your dogs food with and I personally got great results.

Are you sure you were medicating long enough? If you stopped treatment before the mange was completely cured, that would explain why it came back.
