Look at the food your feeding him first!! This is usually associated with a diet too high in fat. Also if your giving him Milkbone dog bones as a treat they can cause terrible gas too, they have too much fat in them too.
You need to do some detective work to find out what is causing your dogs gas.

I would recommend asking your vet. It is possible that it is the food you are feeing him, or it could be something that he is getting into. Don't change his diet substantially without first asking your vet. Also, avoid table scraps entirely.

Get him on some better food. I recommend Nutro brand food. Its more pricey, but the best food you can get.
