Yes this is done to stop the cake sticking so just make sure you grease right into the corners and just a light dusting of flour, put in some flour shake in around the tin then empty out any excess . Happy baking ,I love the smell of a cake baking

Just a very light dusting to keep the cake from sticking or use the PAM version that has the flour in the can.

Grease the tin, then put in about a rounded dessertspoonful of flour & tip it round so that it spreads out & sticks to the base & sides. You might need add a bit more, to cover any bits that have been missed. If there's some flour not stuck, tip it away.

Yes, just a light dusting and swoosh the flour around to get some on the sides. If you are making a chocolate cake, use cocoa powder, then you don't get white stuff on the cake!

Once you grease the tin , drop about a tablespoon of flour in the centre of tin, and then tap tin on bench top and roll tin in all directions until lightly coated and then tip upside down and tap base until excess has fallen out.

You wipe the pan with butter or shortening with a paper towel. Then put in a Tablespoon of flour and move it around to dust the pan.

However, Pam would work just as well.

Hi Sarah,
Calm down its dead easy..........
Melt some butter, add some flour mix to a thick consistency
enough for your requirements then pastry brush your tin, place in fridge for a few min's then add your mixture.
For a heavy mix ie: Victoria then run a strip of greaseproof around
the tin and likewise the bottom no need for sponge is fine.
Have a great baking day.....enjoy
Regards.......

i generally use a paper towel, smear on some butter and wipe down the sides of the pan, then i throw in some flour and bang the sides of the pan with my free hand while changing angles to ensure coverage. whatever sticks is the right amount. but yeah, light dusting.

grease around the tin then sprinkle half a cup of flour into the tin and swish it all around, tip the excess out, its not an exact science just enough to cover the whole tin
