Easy. Go to a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights

It's much easier to cross a busy street at a traffic light, so choose a route which has this.
Otherwise, you have to remain patient, looking left first, then right.......back and forth like watching a ping-pong game and learn to judge the distance and timing of the other traffic.
When there is a gap, you make your move and continue looking left and right until you are across.........remember, the guy from the left will hit you first on any two way street!......

Pretend your a chicken and then ask yourself why do you need to cross the road . Sometimes it best to go the longer way just for safety factors . Life is short but it's shorter if your not careful.
