I just had a project for school to do my family tree and all the "free" sites are just sites that lead you back to ancestry.com. However if you just need to do it quickly you can sigh up for a free trial and then cancel it. I know its sounds wrong but they shouldn't foll you into thinking there are free sites when all those sites send you back to them.

You could try Genes Reunited! Its part of Friends Reunited and i think the joining fee is only £7.50. It could help you find some of your family tree aswel. Good luck!
