This is pretty quick, but VERY yummy

Melt these in a saucepan:
180g butter (6oz)
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup of water
2 cups (300g) chocolate bits/buttons

Pour melted ingredients into a large bowl.

Add 4 eggs
1 1/2 cups of plain flour
1/4 tsp bicarbonate
1 1/2 cups of walnuts
1/3 cup of cocoa powder (makes it extra chocolatey!)

Mix together. Pour into greased/lined tray.
Cook for 40 - 50 minutes in a 150oC oven

When cooked and cool, cut into squares and dust with icing sugar.

ENJOY!!

These are really tasty - I sometimes put all 3 types of chocolate in to make it even better
Ingredients
140g/5oz dark chocolate
225g/8oz butter
5 eggs
450g/1lb caster sugar
110g/4oz plain flour
55g/2oz cocoa powder

Method
1. Heat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5. Line a 20x30cm/8x12in roasting tin with baking parchment.
2. Gently melt the butter and the sugar together in a large pan.
3. Take off the heat and beat in the rest of the ingredients.
4. Turn into the roasting tin and bake for 30-40 minutes until the top of the brownie is firm but the inside still feels soft.
5. Take out of the oven and cool in the tin. Cut into 5cm/2in squares when cool.

You will need:-
• 250g unsalted butter
• 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken up
• optional: 75g dried sour cherries
• optional: 50g chopped nuts
• 80g cocoa powder, sifted
• 65g plain flour, sifted
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 360g caster sugar
• 4 large eggs
• optional: zest of 1 orange
• optional: 250ml crème fraîche
and then all you do is,Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4. Line a 25cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper. In a large bowl over some simmering water, melt the butter and the chocolate and mix until smooth. Add the cherries and nuts, if you’re using them, and stir together. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and sugar, then add this to the chocolate, cherry and nut mixture. Stir together well. Beat the eggs and mix in until you have a silky consistency.

Pour your brownie mix into the baking tray, and place in the oven for around 25 minutes. You don’t want to overcook them so, unlike cakes, you don’t want a skewer to come out all clean. The brownies should be slightly springy on the outside but still gooey in the middle. Allow to cool in the tray, then carefully transfer to a large chopping board and cut into chunky squares. These make a fantastic dessert served with a dollop of crème fraîche mixed with some orange zest

I know you don't want to use a packet mix, but I found a VERY easy way to make moist cake like brownies that is very yummy and very quick.

Take a devils food cake mix, a packet of chocolate pudding mix and half a bag of chocolate chips. Make the cake mix according to recipe, but add a bit more water........say 1/3 cup. Toss in the choc pudding mix and mix again. Put it in your baking dish and spread the chocolate chips all over the top, then bake for the time it says on the recipe box. My family LOVES this concoction and it's great for on the go! May need to eat it with a fork tho!

If you really want to make them at home from scratch, this is my favorite:
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sugar
1 cup walnuts, chopped [ optional]

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 13 by 9 pan. Melt butter and let cool. Beat eggs and vanilla until foamy. Add sugar and butter. Mix well. Blend in the rest. Bake 30-35 min.

If you have a Winco in your area, buy the bulk brownie mix. The only ingredients are the mix and water and you bake them for 22-25 minutes at 375. Very quick & easy and tasty!!!

Added tip you might want to try:

Mash up one banana and break a Hershey bar into small pieces and stir it in the mix. It makes the brownies really moist & gooey (sp?).

Use a betty crocker mix and put some chocolate chips, and maybe some peanut butter chips, maybe some nuts...

This will be easy, but if you want to "make" something, see the link below..
