My friend has a dark line on her upper lip that formed during pregnancy and didnt go away after she had the baby. Does anyone know of a medication that will treat this? Also it gets darker when she goes in the sun or tanning bed. Is there anything she can do?

It is a hormonal thing and probably wont go away, i have seen ladies skin that gets white patches from the same thing, she could try a good skin cream i know one who tried one with advocado in it and it faded a bit,but if she is really worried get her to get her doctor to recomend a dermatologist to look at it

I get this... its pretty similar to how some people gets dark rings under our eyes... only this appears above the top lip.

It annoys me as I always think it looks like a faint tash! Not many people can see it and dont understand what im going on about.

I think its actually just a vein showing through the skin and appearing as dark.

I dont do sun beds or sun bathing so I dont know if it makes mine worse. Although if it does it could be a sun damage type area. Check with your doc to make sure.

avoid the tanning beds... check with a doctor that it is baby related... perhaps it could just be coincidence that it appeared in pregnancy? id also ask the doctor about medical advice cuz i doubt many on here are qualified to tell her what medication to take

its probably pigmentation. the fluctuation in hormone levels during pregnancy probably brought it on.avoid too much sunbathing as it could make it worse.there are creams available which could help with the problem, and light diffusing concealers to hide it.
