I went right for the regular cotton underwear. I went and bought them, wrapped them up and gave them their gift. Since they were so special, they didn't want to mess them up. Worked for me.

something that the child is keen to wear - so it is a "Grown up" thing! Keep telling child that she/he doesn't want to get new grown up pants wet/dirty, so just tell mummy or find the potty but also that if/when accidents happen, you are not cross, just disappointed because you know the child will try harder to get there in time, next time - right?
It's a hard couple of weeks, then all should click into place, and its goodbye nappies!!

Huggies Pullups/ Pampers lets go...the have strechy sides(the baby will think he's wearing a real underwear) and peelable bcos of velgro and if there's a mess you can just open the sides, they lock wetness away so the baby will stay dry and they have little pictures(for girls there's princesses and stuff and for bos there's action figures) when there's wetness the graphics fade...nice hey

Get cotton underwear that is comfortable.
Whatever you would like to throw away after that period is good too.

And accidents will happen. Be patient.
All the best to both.

Whatever YOU feel most comfortable with. Assuming you are potty training a girl, it is your reminders that are going to get her thinking about those urges and reacting to them. If you are training a boy, a cheerio in the toilet as a "target" is all that is needed to get the boy pottying regularly.

i was just explaining this to my daughter the other day, shes 6 months pregnant

i dont see the point of these pull ups as there just the same as a nappy

where as if you put proper underwear on them, they feel different on a child's bum so they will try there best not to soil them, pulls up are same as nappies so child wont know the difference when they have soiled as it feels like a nappy to them

well this is my opinion on them anyway

Cotton underwear worked better for my daughter. She didn't like how wet they made her feel.
