They usually carry on throughout life. Unspayed older dogs are at quite a high risk of pyometra - a serious womb infection that happens after their season. The first most obvious sign is usually drinking more, so it's something to know about if you have a female dog..

They do not stop having seasons. I highly recommend that female dogs are spayed, preferably before their first season. If they are not spayed, then they are highly likely to suffer from mammary tumours, ovarian cancers and a nasty, potentially fatal disease called pyometra (pus in the uterus). This then requires an emergency hysterectomy whilst the dog is unwell, making it more risky surgery, than a spay on a healthy dog.

It is so worthwhile to get your dog neutered, for health reasons, and to prevent unwanted pregancies, as there are so many unwanted dogs in shelters now and for the inconcevience of seasons, which means confining your dog whilst she is in heat to avoid being got at by a male.

They never stop having seasons. When they get older they have a high chance of getting pyometra ( pus in the womb ) if they have not been spayed. Also they are more likely to have mammary tumors. These can run up expensive vet bills & are life threatening for the dog. Much cheaper & kinder to have them spayed.

B**ches come into season and are capable of breeding throughout their lifespan.

However becoming pregnant and producing a litter of puppies can be fatal for a geriatric dog so owners of older b**ches should be just as careful about ensuring that their old girls do not get the opportunity.

I understand that humans are the only animals that live beyond child-bearing age.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7hV

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

They don't - though very old girls are usually quiet about it and you might miss it (which brings in a WHOLE 'nother worry)
