You are confusing the Maya & the Aztecs. Different people.
The 12th Baktun of the Mayan Long Count calendar is ending in 2012. NOT the whole calendar. The 13th Baktun starts 12-21-2012.

Your correct! It does not go beyond 2012! Now, they say this could just be because they disappeared before it was completed or any number of reasons. True, that some theorize it is because they believed the world would end as we know it! But, that isn't to say that the world will explode or be flung out into space or anything like that! It could mean there will be a big change that will have such drastic effects on the earth that we will see things as being gone forever. Of course there are so many changes in the earth, right now, that it isn't too far stretched to believe something catastrophic might happen! But, I don't worry about it! In my life time I have lived long enough for science to say "The ice will never melt, it will be there forever!" to "The ice is melting and we should be prepared for the damage this is causing to our planet!"
I am one of those ones who follow the information given and attempt to save the planet in any way possible! However, that doesn't mean a thing! In a few years they will probably learn or say, "There is nothing you can do to change the damage done", but me, I will continue trying! lol

Why apply the Mayans' superstition to yours? When it turns 2013, you'll all continue to look retarded.
