Also, what is your age, church/denominational affiliation, and geographical location?

I am 38, attend an Assembly of God church, live in PA, and prefer traditional worship, which seems to place me in the minority around here. I was just wondering how others feel.

When I began my journey with God I didn't know about denominations. That was good because I didn't get trapped in a box. I worship God in Spirit and Truth, very seldom entering a church building and the way of worship is common to what the Church of God, Assembly of God and Pentacostals " used " to worship. The best times I have in the Lord is when a few of like minded believers get together ( how good and pleasent it is for bretheren to gather together in unity ). Was born in the 40's and in the Lord since 1980. Traveled a lot but now in the South.

You know, I think that this is the number one question asked by people and the reason that they pick a church. I am involved in my church's ministry-in choir and worship team, and I am a violinist as well- our worship is a blend of both contemporary and traditional. I totally understand that people have preferences but when these preferences get in the way of true worship that is where the problem begins. Music is a great tool that we use to worship our God, but when the style of music becomes paramount then our worship is not pleasing to the Lord.
I am 48 and go to a EV free church.

Traditional all the way.

I don't like the 7-11 music .... you know, 7 lines of music that we sing 11 times.

Yep ... you're right .. the traditional churches are the minority. I am having a real tough time finding one in the Phoenix metro area.

I prefer contemporary. Traditional, to me, seems like just going through the same timeless, BORING motions. God's praise should be sung from a joyful tongue, a happy soul, not a bored one. I'm 21, Baptist, and in Missouri.

I like both, but I lean toward traditional.
I am 53, live in IL, go to an independent (Rhema) type church, which is similar to Assembly of God.
