Quotes are cheap shots, and make you not a very good friend.
Be honest, if this is not enough then it's their problem.
Just tell the friend they are being ridiculous if they think that they are actually getting away with it.
And also that people are talking negatively for what is being said by the friend.
If they are not mortified and shamed into being truthful by that fact alone, then maybe you should find friends who are not dishonest to share your trust with.

"i guess i have forgiven us both,
although sometimes in the night my dreams
will take me back to the sadness,
and i have to wake up and forgive us again."
"i heard of your regrets
i heard that you were feeling sorry
i heard from someone that you wish
you could set things right between us
i guess i should have heard of that from you."
"please understand,
this just isn't goodbye.
this is i can't stand you."
"how sad flow the streams in the valley below
how to prove that i love you i never will know
you say that you love me you say you are true
but among all your fine words are lying ones too
although i have sworn that i love you i know
that you will not believe me and so i must go
i thank you for moments of joy we did share
and i hope you that your luck will be better elsewhere"

“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you”
I love you, and because I love you, I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies.”
