There's this guy... I went to primary school with him, and as we started high school I started to like him. I'm now in year 9, so I've liked him for about 2 years, but i've never done anything about it. Recently I've noticed things that suggest he likes me, and I've described his actions to 2 guys and they both think he likes me. (Eg. today he stared at me on the bus for like 1 1/2 minutes, I even stared back and he didn't stop). He makes me laugh and I always feel good when I'm around him. I'm thinking that if he doesn't do anything this week, or startish of next week I'll get the guts to ask him out myself (which is a big thing for me, as I can be very, very shy). But I want to do it discretely so that if he turns me down, the whole world doesn't know. So basically I need a whole bunch of ideas from different people as to how I can ask him out. (But I mean it when I say discrete, I really don't have the guts for anything bigger)

(Ps to that person that said it's no secret that I like him anyway, it actually is. Except for the people who read this question who don't actually know who or the guy is, only 2 or 3 people know, and they live a few hundred km away from me)

(Pps I'm scared that if I ask him out and it backfires that the friendship we already have will perrish, and any encounters with him will be very awkward, and I like being with him too much for that to happen)

Ask him out for coffee to chat that's very easy to do if he shows interest in you. I think that going for out for coffee or tea is probably the best place to start. Maybe you can ask him right up front?
You have to tell him and be frank even if it means he will reject you. It's the only chance you have. I did that with one guy and it was after I got to know him pretty good. Guys have to do that with us so what's the difference really?
Girls can reject guys like guys can reject girls. From the sounds of things I would take a chance. Hey if it fails then you can always meet someone else? It certainly does sound like you have a good chance if you think he likes you?
You know you want to find out so then ask him. Don't ask a friend to do that for you because that is chickening out. Face it yourself and just ask him.

But here's one way -- tell him you need to ask a favor, but he must keep it a total secret that you asked. NOBODY must know. And it won't be anything illegal or dangerous that would obligate him to break the confidence.
