If you go to your first meeting you will get a booklet which will tell you how many points to use, and the points in common foods.
If you print out the following voucher and register before 31st March you do not have to pay the registration fee. http://www.weightwatchers.co.uk/plan/mtg/coupon_popup.aspx
All you will have to pay is £4.95.
I know its not what you asked, but sometimes it is worth just going to the first meeting to get the information! The points value of things is hard to find online.

Basically it works on points, you have somewhere between 20 and 30 points a day depending on your height, weight, gender, level of activity etc. I try to stick to 24 points a day, i lost 7lbs in a week by sticking to this (i haven't stuck to it very well since).
You can get a calculator from weightwatchers to tell you how many points in 'normal food' i.e. 2.5 in an average skinless chicken breast etc, you might be able to find this free online but i haven't been able to (let me know if you find it)
You could eat just WW branded foods (also tesco have their points on some of their foods), and stick to the points that way without joining but WW foods can be expensive and sometimes a bit bland.
I would suggest buying their most basic membership, i think mine cost me £8 just for the calculator and it works really well.

You can join them on-line. You get all the info, the points, the point values of foods, recipies, discussion forum (where you can talk to other weight watchers). Each week you weigh yourself and put your new details on the system, then it produces you a graph. So you can do it without having to attend a weekly meeting etc. Go on their website. I think if you join on-line you can still go to their meetings but I'm not sure.

If you go to www.healthdiscovery.net they have some points values on there. But really you need the cardboad wheel thing so that you can work out the calories and fat and what points they add up to. You can get them on ebay! otherwise you would have to live off ww food to know the points! that would be expensive! I would get the free registation voucher from ww website and then go to one meeting where you will be given the booklet and calculator thing (you dont even need to stay for the meeting just get weighed then leave) and then dont go back!!!!

i have done the weight watchers longtime ago and it is like every other diet, you need to stick to it, not just bulshhhh yourself that if it has the stamp 'weight watchers' then it is working.
best tips: eat lots of veggies, fruits as well, just careful cos they are full of sugar, if you eat lots fruits- do not eat sweets, cakes or chocs and biscuits
if you can walk- don't use the car or the bus, or other transport- better to exercise than sit and eat weight watchers products...
drink water and if you feel hungry have an apple or a carrot
before a meal eat a piece of fruit...
don't waste money on diet programs, learn to control yourself and eat healthy, and be active.

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. That boosts your metabolism and boosts natural ephadrine, the hormone in which burns fat. According to Jeya Henry, professor of human nutrition in Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon with your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 %!

No matter how little some people eat, they still grow fat. Some skinny people keep eating a lot and they remain skinny. Why?
Why people tend to grow fat as they age?
The key lies in our ability to purge acid out of our body. If the acid is not able to purge out of the body, the body will archive the acid as fats to maintain the body's acid-alkaline pH level. Most of the food you take is acidic and if your body cannot maintain its pH level, you will become concentrated acid.
I found this idea from a book called "pH miracle for weight loss". This acid-alkaline diet helps me to loose and maintain my weight. It also help to cure my fungus problem. My hair is not oily anymore. I do not sweat so much. My friend with diabetes is able to control its sugar problem using this diet.
Help your body to control pH level by eating as much alkaline food as possible.

Go bland. Plain, straightforward, unseasoned food such as smoked chicken, plain rice and a naked baked potato are nutritious but your palette will tire of these quickly, unlike salty moreish prepared food, which keeps you snacking and piling about the pounds.

Fatty coconut milk: Believe that or not, it contains good fats which can be important for keeping your metabolism ticking. One meal, like a new delicious Thai green curry, can increase your metabolism by 5 %, says research published in the International Journal of Obesity.
