Depends on a lot of factors: Your skin's elasticity, how big the baby gets (how much you stretch), whether you use a good cream (like Palmer's Cocoa Butter), and Mother Nature herself.
I don't have a tattoo on/near my belly button, but friends of mine do & all of them have children. Their tattoo's never looked the same after children, but that's not to say they looked awful. They are all different tattoos, and they still look fantastic-albeit a little different from the day they got them.
I wouldn't NOT have a baby just because of your tattoo--but make sure you use a great stretch mark cream several times a day to keep your tattoo moist and elastic. Also, voice your concerns to your doctor and perhaps he/she has suggestions also.
Our bodies were made for having babies, and if we keep them in shape and take care of ourselves, before, during and after pregnancy, there should be no reason that your skin won't look the same after your little one is born.
Take care of yourself, your skin, and eat healthy. Use stretch mark cream and good luck!

That just seems like it is more of a place that a female would get a tattoo than a guy. I'm not against tattoos... but I don't think it would look right seeing a guy with a tattoo there.

That will entirely depend on the elasticity of your skin, and also how much weight you gain while pregnant. If you return to previous weight, and you are blessed with "good" skin that returns to shape with no str-e-tch marks, you will not notice any difference in your tattoo. I never used any oils etc, but some ladies swear that massaging oil into your abdomen each day while pregnant will prevent stretch marks forming. Worth a try if you are worried about it.

Everyone skin is different, except more than likely the tattoo will not look the same after pregnancy. Also, if you have a c-section, damage to the tattoo will be very evident.

my sister in law has one around her belly button and it didn't go to strange after she had her baby. You have to hope you don't get any stretch marks through it. Best thing to do is by a really good moisturiser and put it on your tummy religiously and hope for the best

Make sure you use cocoa butter every day and something with lots of vitamin E in it. This will prevent most stretch marks.

it depends on your skin, but it will most likely stretch. my cousin has 1 on her hip kind of lower front. when she had her kids it kind of stretched, its a planet. now it is more oval shaped then round like it was before. but if you decide to have a baby then the baby is well worth it. :-D

Lotion for stretch marks may help. Good luck!
