The US Army's birthday is June 14, 1775 (not 1776 as the first answerer stated).

It was originally named the Continental Army, but was changed to the US Army on June 3, 1784. Despite the name change, the US Army considers itself officially founded on June 14, 1775.

It's predecessor...First American unit formed 1747 (Known as "His Majesty’s first Independent Company of American Rangers." Though it served England, the Rangers were American soldiers.)

American Revolution...It started with the Continental Army under George Washington.
