Lucifer is referred to in Isaiah as the covering Cherub
which means he had four wings. Which is lower in rank than the Seraphim which has six wings.
Lucifer had a special station "He walked among the stones of fire." Which means he was the guardian angel to the throne room of God. He convinced a third of the angels to rebel against God. Lucifer wanted to be equal with God "like the most high." Creation wanted equality with creator.

Morningstar was the chief amongst God's angels and got too big for his boots. He was cast down into darkness.
Satan/Pan/Lucifer all represent those aspects of the self which are not acceptable to civilised society. Usu sally these are the sexual and violent impulses.
The myth is about the suppression and casting down of these. This is why Lucifer is acknowledged as part of God to begin with and why he dwells in the unconscious darkness (hell).

Lucifer was God's close angel, God gave him some power, perhaps knowing that it would go to his head, and that's why he was thrown out... and perhaps God wanted to test his future humans with Lucifer's ugly ways of power to determine how the humans are temped.

No, hon, Lucifer was NOT adopted.. he was actually "god's" right-hand man... THE head Angel. His name means "Bringer of Light." His primary job was in music. It's said that he was beautiful and "god's favourite." They say that he became jealous of god's glory and wanted some for himself. Other angels backed Lucifer, some back the god. Big argument and several battles later the god and his buddies tossed Luke and his chums on their butts.
Lucifer's name in Hebrew is Satan...(more or less)

He was one of THEE top angels an ARCH angel. He thought that Gods plans for earth & humans ( God coming to earth as his Son to save us all ) was insane ( big mistake ) and he was thrown out of Heaven by a lower ranked angel, Michael. Michael beat him up as he kicked him to earth. Half of all angels went with him to earth where they still roam today!

There was no Lucifer. That name is a carry-over from the corrupt Latin Bibles. Heylel was the original name. He was not adopted. He was created. He chose to be evil.

No. He was an archangel, at one time second in command to God himself. He led a rebellion in Heaven and was cast down to earth to roam about mankind "seeking whom he may devour".
