There are many forms of epilepsy and thus different symptoms that go with them.
You could black out for only a few seconds or for hours, flashing lights, seizures, memory loss.
Are you worried that you may have this condition?, if so go to your Dr's and they will arrange for a simple test to be done to determine if you have epilepsy and how best to treat it.Some things maybe classed at this but are not, like people getting stressed and then fainting.
Today there is not the stigma attached to epilepsy that there used to be many years ago, and the treatment is far more advanced than used to be, once diagnosed and on the correct treatment a person can drive (after 3 clear years of not fitting) marry and have children old down a job.
Put your mind at ease, visit the Dr's

Only a neurologist can accurately diagnosis epilepsy. If you are concerned, you should address this with your doctor. Even if you don't have actual convulsions that doesn't mean that you aren't having seizures. If something is going on that has you so concerned that you are questioning the possibility of epilepsy, then you most definitely need to speak with your doctor.

There are many types of epilepsy ranging from "absences" (petit mal) to full tonic/clonic seizures (grand mal). The only way to get a diagnosis is by consulting your g.p. and being referred to a specialist for full investigations. There are several web sites for associations specialising in epilepsy which may be able to help in the meantime.

Don't panic. the definition of epilepsy is increased, or regular seizure activity. If you are worried about epilepsy, don't look for answers here, go to your GP and he can refer you to an epilepsy specialist. Hope all is well!

there are many kinds of epilepsy. some siezures are hard to spot as they could be petit mal, meaning very small . if you suffer from periods of absence, that could be a sign, but really, with something like this you need to see a doctor
