Small tins of Fruitini or the Delmonte tubs of fruit are popular with my son. He also enjoys tins of John West Tuna Light as a change from sandwiches. A few oat cakes and pieces of cheese or chicken, drumsticks or quiche and yoghurt is good. It really depends on what she enjoys . Maybe a cereal bar would be better than a biscuit .
Children will always eat the sweet stuff but may not bother with the sandwich or salad. I try to avoid sweets and biscuits and just put in more fruit . Little bags of dried fruit for example. You can buy larger bags and make up little tubs or bags yourself. That way its much cheaper. Or how about milk? But will it be stored somewhere cool until she eats it? Some schools are very hot and packed lunches left in the heat aren't a good idea. also make sure she gets plenty of water to drink Children can become quite dehydrated and sweet drinks don't do them any good.

Maybe you could try mixed fruit (fruit salad), muffins, diiferent cakes or slices, muesli bars, yoghurt or packet biscuits. Sandwiches are quick to bore children, find other foods she may like that are okay to be served at room temperature like maybe home made mini quiche, home made pizza, cold spaghetti. It depends what kind of foods she interested in already. Try changing the piece of fruit she takes each day, Monday - Apple, Tuesday - Banana, Wednesday - Grapes, Thursday - Pear Friday - Sliced Peaches for example. And same goes for her sandwiches, maybe only give her 3 sandwiches a week and change the spreads/fillings.
Hope this helps

How about:
Cut up carrots and celery into strips and put a dip in a small tub for her. Make her feel all grown up at a cocktail party (and healthy too)
Petit Filou tubes or pots - delicious (a particular fave of mine as well).
Make some rice crispy cakes at the weekend and she can take one to school with her, and maybe some for her friends. Will make her popular with the other kids! ;-)
Make her a wrap instead of a sandwich - get the tortilla wraps and put some of her favourite fillings in them. A little bit more exciting than a sandwich.
Hope that helps... i know it's difficult getting the balance right for a 5 year old.

I alternate sandwiches with ham & cheese (with crackers or Saos), and cold leftover meats such as chicken drumsticks (just make sure you have icebricks in the lunchbox to keep it cold) . We put in 2-3 different types of fruit every day (and sometimes fruit salad). Extras include cheese slices & yoghurt. As a treat once a week, I put in homemade biscuits. I would suggest changing the juice to water (half-frozen - so nice & icy).

when my mom made my lunches for school, i liked when she would make a sandwich with leftover cut up chicken mixed with barbeque sauce and put it on wheat bread ...good mom, giving me healthy stuff like wheat bread :) applesauce was a favorite, so was a diced peach cup. if keeping the lunch cool is a problem, they sell packs thet u freeze n put into the lunch to keep it from getting too warm. i never had one though. my mom would freeze the juice box id get in my lunch and that would keep it cool, or if i was having a drink from my thermos she would just make sure not to put mayonaise on my sandwich.
oh and with my brother his favorite lunch was 2 bean n cheese burritos, along w fruit, drink etc... he would eat one burrito and would trade the other one for whatever he wanted, he would brag that he could even get a piece of chocolate cake w one of the burritos if he wanted lol.

All of the above are great answers - the only thing I can add is that you don't over pack her food. What I mean is don't give her too much.....my little girl used to think that she had to eat every thing in her lunch box and I later found out she was throwing stuff away rather than me thinking she hadn't eaten it - turns out I was giving her too much....
Good luck

my 3yr old has packed lunches we have bagels, pittas, wraps n sandwiches, yoghurt & fruit with juice. Iv found that by taking my daughter shopping to help pick the food for her lunches helps as she then picks what she wants, try a tuna mayo wrap, or a bagel with ham on it, you may be surprise9i was)

my 5 year old likes crackers and cheese for a change sometimes. What i do make now is a crispy fridge cake: melt white choc add, rice crispies/coco pops, seeds; sunflower, pumpkin,linseed,raisins/cranberries/cherries-whatever you have really-put in greased tin and leave in fridge to set. i started doing this as an alternative to penguins etc and it goes down well-sneaky way of getting healthy stuff into normally picky girl and 13 yr old boy loves it too.
