Why would it make you cry? If you really want something that really is bad to cry about maybe you could also cry about drunk drivers who are alot of the cause of why people need the stem cell research so they can walk again after being hit and paralyzed by a drunk driver. Hopefully your tears are tears of joy for the research. I am sure if you were lying in a hospital bed unable to move or had some other type of problem that could be taken care of with the stem cells you would be crying that you were crying before about stem cell research. I really cant see how people confuse cell research with killing babies. They use the cells not developing babies.

If you believe that life begins at conception, then embryonic stem cell research should make you cry, but embryonic stem cells aren't the only ones being used, so don't paint with too broad a brush.

Why?

Stem cell research can be the difference between life and death for some patients living with disease.

It makes me cry when there are so many people out there who are against science and yet still depend on it.
Don't you feel sorry for bacteria which are used to make antibiotics?
Don't you feel sorry for animals that are kept against their will in laboratories for clinical trials of drugs?

I know there are ethical concerns and for all experiments there is a rigourous animal/human rights & ethics commitee and yes, this doesn't seem sufficient.
And there also are many scientific researchers out there who are abusing their position..

But next time you reach for a pharmaceutical medication then think of the animals sacrificed for your benefit.
Then think of how stem cell research could mean a new pancreas for a person with diabetes.. or a new biological heart for a defenceless child with heart disease.

not really. stem cell research has the potential to really help millions of people with serious diseases and injuries. And it is possible to obtain stem cells without having to create or destroy a foetus so i dont think it's morally wrong in all cases. There are many many shades of grey in the stem cell debate.

Not all stem cells are derived from frozen embryos, but they are currently the best source. Realistically, most of them will never be implanted in a human uterus, thus they will never develop into a human being.

What makes me cry is the obstruction of religious fundamentalists in curing human disease.

I am sure that there are many people who are with you. I wonder how many of them know what stem cells are. Did you know that plants have stem cells?

On second thought, you might be joking. I hope you are.

I have millions of little funerals for my sperm every time I jack off- not!

How do you feel about "car bomb kills 38 in crowded market, 71 wounded" ? That makes me feel sad when I see it .

Stem cell research is fine -- so long as it's not FETAL stem cell research.

Pushing fetal stem cell research isn't about science -- after all, not a single medical breakthrough has resulted from it, while many have resulted from adult stem cell research.

Rather, pushing fetal stem cell research is really about pushing abortion.

If the pro-abortion crowd can get enough people on the fetal SCR bandwagon, it will further desensitize the public's reaction to the murder of unborn babies.

In other words, pushing fetal SCR is really about pushing, promoting, and encouraging abortion.
