That is so below the threshold!

I would think that you're doctor has recommended some form of treatment? I would be taking iron supplements ..it might take a couple of months to find a great one. I know from experience that concentrated iron tablets give stomach cramps and constipation. Excreting iron isn't pleasant either! You might switch to a lower dose or if it's not working as efficiently you could try taking a Vitamin C/Iron combined tablet.

Alternatively, eat more red meat (don't over cook it) or if you're vego then go for plenty of green leafies, beetroots and baked beans. Don't forget the orange juice!

Sounds like the results do mean you have a deficiency. Look up on the net foods that are high in iron. You could become anemic if you don't take care of that and you'll be extremely tired.

Yes you are anemic.
You need protein. You need to eat LOTS and lots of red meat.
Being a vegetarian is a fine idea but often leads to anaemia (lack of iron)
You also need to take tablets as one lady suggested.
You MUST fix it because without iron the oxygen you breathe can NOT go to your cells and do their work. Then your immune system will get bad; you will get lots of diseases which you can die from.

Twelve is considered borderline anemic. Anything below that is. I have a seven and am on Nifirex. I feel better on it and the only side effect thus far is black poop.
