what is this new version: window vista all about? what make it more advance is it than other windows?

I like it a lot. they made the folder views more similar to apple osx design and they added lots of cool features. Some of it is just cosmetic but also lots of extra security features. I turned a lot of that stuff off but it's usefull I suppose. I love the new gadgets window too....you put so much extra right on the desktop

I've had for maybe little more than a week now and it really runs just as smooth as xp did.

It is the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It claims to be more secure and more reliable than XP. So far, the jury is still out and there are huge compatibility issues with printers, scanners, etc.

So, your older PC may need extensive hardware upgrades just to run it. My advice, wait for at least 6 months for the bugs to be worked out.

The most important near term advance is the Encrypted File System. Its got 1024 bit encryption, which is fairly strong. This means that you can lock the file system down so well that it is extremely difficult for anybody to gain access to files stored on your computer. Its in fact so strong that police and governments are complaining that they wont be able to seize computers and gain access to data to hold against people.

Its also supposed to be more stable from a standpoint that programs and virii will have a harder time doing anything to it to cause problems.

it is still beta and lot of bugs. I requires lot of RAM and all software has to be verified after few days of installaion no matter how you got the software installed and many softwares does now work with vista yet. Better to keep xp untill all bugs are cleared
